The Barloworld Power team supported the STOP HUNGER NOW Initiative on the 17th July 2015.

Stop Hunger Now, is an international organisation that coordinates the distribution of food and other lifesaving aid worldwide.

This event advocated by Graca Machel was in honour of giving 67 minutes to doing good in celebration of the late Tata Madiba’s birthday.

Teams of 20 people assembled in the Sandton Convention centre, Durban ICC and Canal Walk in Cape Town with the aim of packing a million meals on the day. The money raised from entering teams into these shifts will cover the ingredients and distribution of these meals which equates to 3 120 meals. This would feed 20 children three times a week for an entire year.

The Stop Hunger Now initiative achieved 1.2 million meals which were packed into 5 565 boxes for South Africa on the 17th July 2015.

Well done to all those involved in this initiative.
