AN UPDATE FROM EMMY LEEKA

October 2017

Dear customer

We recently received feedback from some of our customers that our ways of working could be simplified.

To achieve this, we launched Project Akhani in April 2017 to rapidly deliver a business transformation programme that delivers superior performance for our Customers. Over the last few months Project Akhani has been focusing on how to remove complexities in our processes and the way in which BWE does business.

Project Akhani has been focusing on reviewing our current processes at a granular task level for every position in the business. The key areas being how we deliver services to our customers and how we support our customer facing people.

Through digital transformation, supported by harnessing the latest technology, we can improve the turnaround times and complexities in the business to provide you with a more satisfying experience and in parallel improve our position as a leading Caterpillar dealer.

All areas of the southern African organisation will be transformed by the proposed improvements in the way we do business including availability of parts inventory, service and product support provision and each site’s proximity to our customers. The outcome of this study suggests that should the study be accepted by our people during the consultation period we are entering, that BWE would need to re-evaluate its sites.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either Charl Groenewald, Executive Head: Customer Fulfilment Services (cgroenewald@barloworld-equipment.com), Gerhard Vorster, Executive Head: Mining (gvorster@barloworld-equipment.com) or Vasco Santos, Executive Head: Construction, Rental & Used (vsantos@barloworld-equipment.com).

I trust that you are as excited as I am about the possibility of a new way of doing business and I look forward to your continued support over the coming period.

Kind Regards Emmy
